Choosing the right dumpster size for your project
A 10-yard dumpster suits garage cleanouts and small bathroom remodels. A 20-yard handles roofing jobs, flooring and single-room renovations.
For kitchen remodels, additions and larger cleanouts, a 30-yard is the usual choice. Full demolitions and new builds often need a 40-yard.
If you are between sizes, go larger. Overfilled dumpsters cannot be hauled, and a second trip costs more than the extra space.
Heavy material like concrete, brick and dirt needs its own container because of weight limits. Ask dispatch before you load it.
